How do you keep your nose from drying out in the winter? Moisture. These tips can help your nose survive even the harshest winter conditions.

–          Continue to drink plenty of fluids, especially water, throughout the winter time. Keeping hydrated will help your whole body with the drier conditions winter brings.

–          Use humidifiers. Placing them in the rooms you spend the most time in will help.

–          Hot steamy showers or steam pots (hot water in a bowl with a towel over your head) will loosen dried mucous, making it easier to clear.

–          Nasal saline or gels. These can be used as often as needed. There are several available over the counter or you can make your own recipe. Be sure to use distilled water to reduce chances of bacterial contamination.
