Allergy Tip of the Day:

Asthma Triggers:

Allergens are one of the most common asthma triggers. See your allergist to determine what you are allergic to and learn how to avoid those allergens. Irritants such as strong odors or smoke can cause exacerbations as well. Avoid using cleaning products with harsh chemicals in them in your home. Avoid restaurants where smoking is permitted. Weather is another trigger that should be considered at all times. Wind, excessive heat and cold and even humidity levels can trigger symptoms. Respiratory infections and the flu are also culprits. Frequent hand washing is important to maintain good health habits. Exercise may be the only trigger for an asthmatic but this is one trigger that should not be avoided. Plan your exercise routine to your surroundings and don’t over do it.
