Get Rid of Your Medical Waste

Wondering where you can dispose of your used medical needles and other materials? The El Paso County Household Hazardous Waste Facility is Asthma and Allergy Associates’ preferred location!

The El Paso County Household Hazardous Waste Facility now accepts the following home-use medical sharps:

  • hypodermic syringes – pen needles
  • intravenous needles – lancets
  • other devices that penetrate the skin to deliver medications

Medical sharps: Put in a certified medical sharps container from a pharmacy or a clean plastic liquid laundry detergent bottle with a narrow neck and a screw lid

Pills: Put pills (no controlled substances) in a sealable bag.

Liquid medicines, ointments, patches, inhalers, etc.:

Remove personal and drug information from items. Place in a sealable bag, separate from pills.

SHARPS WILL BE ACCEPTED IN THE FOLLOWING CONTAINERS ONLY:
(securely fasten and duct-tape the lids)

  • a certified puncture-resistant medical sharps container or
  • a clean plastic detergent bottle with a narrow neck and a screw lid

Monday – Friday, 7am – 5pm and 2nd Saturday of each month, 9am – 1pm

Free to El Paso and Teller County residents ONLY!

A donation of non-perishable food items for the Care & Share food bank is encouraged.

he incidence of sesame seed allergy is rapidly increasing.   However, at Asthma & Allergy Associates we have identified food allergies to many different triggers.

Remember any food is capable of causing an allergic reaction.
